Mountain State(s) League

Two different leagues have used the Mountain States League name, and between those, one was called the Mountain State League.
The first Mountain States League was a short-lived Class D circuit which operated only for a season-and-a-half, from 1911-1912.
The second league went with a singular name, Mountain State League. Also Class D, it played from 1937 through 1942.
The final Mountain States League restored the plural moniker and ran from 1948 through 1954 (Class D until the final season when it was promoted to Class C).

Virgil Q. Wacks, 1948 – 1954

The official name of the version of the league that played from 1948-1954 is Mountain States, plural. For unknown reasons this ball has a singular league name.
