This is the modern Can-Am League (the name had been used previously from 1936-1951 for a Class C affiliated league). This iteration was founded in 2005 by Miles Wolff as a reorganization of the Northeast League, and ceased operation following the 2019 season. Five of the six teams were absorbed into the independent Frontier League.
