The Longhorn League, essentially a minor league for the minor leagues (only three teams were affiliated with MLB clubs, and those for only a single season), operated in the southwestern United States from 1947 through 1955. The league was renamed to the Southwestern League for one season before becoming the Sophomore League. It folded after the 1961 season.
