Other Cool Links

You’ll find links to official league websites throughout the Collection pages, and links to either Wikipedia or Baseball Reference in the Defunct Leagues section.  Here are a few links that pertain to minor league baseball in general, and a few MLB collector’s links as well.

A writer and minor league fan runs Mike McCann’s Minor League Baseball Page.  Plan to spend some time here browsing through some minor league history; interesting blog posts and articles he’s written for other sites; an extremely useful page that tracks affiliation changes and player development contracts; and a pile of other great minor league links.

Speaking of minor league history, there are several sites out there dedicated to the history and memorabilia of individual leagues and teams.  One of the best is CaliforniaLeagueHistory.com, full of memorabilia, scores, and stats.  Tell Michael that Tony Baseballs sent you.

Joseph McMahan is another collector seeking to represent every minor league in his collection.  He’s got some great finds, even stuff I don’t have.  You can follow his efforts on his Facebook page “History of Organized Baseball – The Collection.”

Another key resource for baseball collecting in general is KeyMan Collectibles (see what I did there?)  You’ll find price guides, dating information, and a forum.  Tons of great info and Steven is quite willing to answer your questions.

One of my favorite sites to keep up with all things baseball, from MLB down to college ball, is Ballpark Digest.

For news on the many active independent leagues, three sites top my list:  Indy Ball Island, Indy Baseball Chatter, and IndependentBaseball.net.

Planning a minor league baseball trip?  Start the journey at Baseball Pilgrimages.

For all the information you’ll ever need on MLB commemoratives, visit Eric at The Hall of Commemoratives.

If you want to buy some MLB commemorative gamers or an entire book about them, head over to Logoballer’s website.  He’s got them all!

Information on the evolution of the official balls of the Atlantic League came from Atlantic League Autographs.

Do you collect Major League baseballs as well?  Check out Big League Baseballs for an awesome online museum and connect with fellow collectors.  Tell the admin we said “Hi!”, he’s a friend.

If you’re reasearching defunct independent leagues, a good place to begin is the Indy Leagues Graveyard.

A collector’s site for fellow collectors, much like this one attempts to be, is Major League History.  There’s some good information there on baseball manufacturers through the years.

If you have any favorite minor league-related links that I could add, or find any dead ones I need to clean up, let me know!
